Salutations. I’m Melany Linder Graham. Presently I live in New Orleans, Louisiana with the husband and our sons. I say presently because the last twelve years have taught me that the Bohemian-Gypsy blood in me is alive and well, thank you very much. Living in various sub-cities of Los Angeles for six years has not remedied the restlessness, and mayhap the contentment of living in a different “state” (COUNTRY, really, let’s call a spade a spade) will wear off too. Until it does, we will gladly indulge ourselves in King Cake, hurricanes, and croaking frogs.
Melanhead is a term of endearment. It began during my childhood among my family members. Once fellow classmates at Joseph R. Perry Elementary School in Huntington Beach, California caught whiff of this, the term rapidly escalated into a taunting nickname. It evolved into Melanoma later at University High School in Irvine as our vocabulary of the cruel world expanded. I thought it best to avoid the http address melanoma.com. I mean, it’s already taken.
You will find that I write about my self-centered and neurotic universe: toddler son, the smell of my husband’s bald head, friends’ foibles, and Louisiana. I venerate warm twilight evenings, theatre, The Weather Channel, Cosmopolitan libations, Pottery Barn catalogues, and florid language. To my past English teachers’ chagrin, I habitually use the thesaurus.
